If you’ve ever researched ways to make money online, you’ve probably discovered that most people either join a direct sales business or create some kind of product of their own.
But the idea of making your own product when you never have done any kind of online business before can be extremely overwhelming. Waiting until you have a product of your own to make money online means you’re missing out on a lot of potential profit that you could be making while you are also working on your own products.
There are so many opportunities out there for making money online, that it seems a shame to wait. So let’s talk about some of the ways you can start making money online NOW that don’t require you to create your own product.
First things first…. you need a brainstorming session and a plan or a map of how much money you’d like to earn online and then take the steps to fulfill that plan. If you don’t have a plan or a marketing strategy to use to make money, then you won’t get very far.
So here are a few ways you can start making money now…
#1 Become An Affiliate For Other People’s Products
You don’t always have to go with what you know when you want to make money as an online entrepreneur. Pick a market or a “niche” than interests you. If it interests you, it’ll show through your efforts, and you can promote products/services as an affiliate.
A lot of people online have affiliate links that you can use to promote information products as well as physical products. And this is not limited to affiliate/info product marketers.
Websites like Amazon, Target, Kohls, etc… all have affiliate programs. Here are a few websites you can check out to sign up as affiliates for multiple people/companies at once:
And so many more! Most websites will have a link at the bottom that directs you to sign up as an affiliate (if they have one).
#2 Work For Others
If you can write, you can earn money writing for other online businesses or marketers while you’re building your own products. You can write blogs, reports, articles and even eBooks.
And other service jobs are out there too like building backlinks for marketers, taking photographs, responding to emails, filming videos, editing videos, designing powerpoint presentations, narrating audio books, creating blogs and more.
You can find Freelance work on websites like FlexJobs, Upwork, and SolidGigs.
#3 Teach A Course With Video or How-To Workshop
Perhaps you love to teach? Set up a teaching website sharing information about whatever you’re knowledgeable in and charge for lessons or online classes and do them via video.
You can even use a website like Udemy or Skillshare to create a course (and you never have to create your own website!).
There are many people who want to learn from the comfort of their own homes. Just make a list of the topics you know and pick a few of those to expand upon. Create a lesson plan, put up a site (or use one of the above mentioned) and announce through free press releases, social media, forums, or blogs.
#4 Join a Services Website like Fiverr or Upwork.
If you’re not comfortable setting up a website of your own, sites like these can allow you to easily work for others within your specific skill set.
#5 Set Up Your Own eComerce website, and Drop Ship.
Use a site like AliExpress, DinoDirect, or LightInTheBox to find inexpensive and popular items to drop ship through your own online eCommerce site. Shopify makes it super easy to set up your own store/website. And if you have interest in creating your own physical products in the future, this is a good way to start and get a handle on how the system works.
#6 Manage Other Social Media Accounts
A lot of artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, and businesses simply don’t have the knowledge or the time to manage their social media accounts. This is a great opportunity for you to step in! You can pitch local businesses, or if you have a background in social media you can find potential gigs by offering your services on Fiverr.
#7 Ebay Is Still Kicking!
One of the oldest online ways of making money is by reselling items online. Sites like Ebay, Craigslist, and Facebook Marketplace make it easy to resell items and make a profit.
#8 Sell Custom Designs on Clothing and Other Items
Whether or not you’re good with graphics/design, you can sell custom designs on sites like TeeSpring, Society6, or CafePress. If you’re not handy with photoshop, you can hire someone on Fiverr for as little as $5 to design a custom graphic for you.
#9 Sell Stock Photos Online
Even if you’re not in the photography niche, you can learn how to take better photos with a little research and practice. Sites like Udemy and Skillshare have courses on a wide variety of subjects, including photography.
Once you start taking better photos, you can sell your photos as stock imagery online with websites like iStock and ShutterStock. You’ll receive royalties every time someone buys a license for an image you created.
#10 Create DIY or Cooking Videos
Video is BIG and in-demand brands everywhere. If you don’t want to create your own channel/brand with videos, you can create them for others. Sites like Darby Gigs allow you to create and submit videos to earn cash.
Or, like I said, you can use them on your own YouTube/Facebook channels to promote your brand.
No matter which tip you choose to run with, make sure you spend plenty of time researching and making a plan. None of these methods will ever be an easy “get rich quick” strategy.
They WILL require hard work.
Depending on how much effort you put in, you could be making a little or even a lot of extra money while you work towards your own products/goals.
